As a professional music instructor, I specialise in guitar, music theory, music production, mixing, and mastering. I hold a Grade 8 certification in electric guitar and music theory, and have studied under a three-year program in classical music composition at the Birmingham Conservatoire. During my education, I received training in Pro Tools and currently utilise Logic Pro X in my work. I have acquired hands-on experience through shadowing renowned composer Barrington Pheloung during the production of the soundtrack for the ITV show Inspector Lewis, as well as observing a recording sessions with a full orchestra at Abbey Road Studios. I have been proficient in recording software since the age of thirteen, and have received guidance and mentorship from my father, Nik Kershaw, a successful producer who has worked with notable artists such as Elton John, Sia, Gary Barlow, Chesney Hawks, and Bonnie Tyler. My guitar instruction has been under the tutelage of renowned musicians such as Robbie Gladwell, the lead guitarist of Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel, and Geoff Slater, who has not only imparted technical skills, but also the art of effective teaching.
“I really enjoy my lessons with Izzy, it’s a comfortable place to get things wrong without feeling judged which makes it easier to improve! She’s kind, understanding, highly skilled, and i’m looking forward to become a good and confident musician with her tuition”
- Andrew Copeman
“Izzy is very knowledgeable and serious about her craft. She can get a grasp of where you already are and point you in all sorts of new directions for creativity and technical problem solving. I would absolutely recommend her mixing lessons regardless of where you are in your music production journey. Thank you, Izzy!”

I offer instruction in guitar, music theory, mixing, mastering, and production at a rate of £30 per hour. Lessons can be conducted online via Zoom or Discord for guitar and music theory, however, in-person instruction is preferred as it allows for more precise identification of issues in a three-dimensional space. For mixing, mastering, and production, it is necessary to have access to the client's current projects to provide accurate instruction. Due to the loss of audio quality during transmission, online sessions may not be as effective as in-person instruction. My studio is located in Norwich, and interested individuals may contact me through the provided tutoring contact form to schedule lessons.
